ABOUT THE ROLE –
We’re looking for a Lead Video Producer to lead video storytelling across our agency and client portfolio.
This is a role for someone who is equal parts visual storyteller, filmmaker, and creative thinker. Someone who can take an idea from concept through final cut and knows how to make work that doesn’t just look beautiful, but communicates something meaningful.
This is a senior, hands-on creative role with meaningful ownership over video at The Sampson House. You’ll concept. You’ll produce. You’ll shoot. You’ll direct. You’ll edit. And you’ll collaborate with our creative, strategy, and account teams to create work that is thoughtful, beautiful, and purposeful.
We’re looking for someone who brings ideas to the table, not someone who simply waits for a shot list. Someone who asks: What’s the story? Who are we trying to reach? What would make someone care? And how can we make this better?
You’ll also think beyond the hero video. A single production might become a brand film, social content, paid advertising creative, website storytelling, customer stories, recruitment content, or dozens of short-form assets. You’ll help us approach productions intentionally so we’re building an ecosystem of useful creative, not simply one finished video.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO -
Lead video projects from initial concept through production, post-production, and final delivery.
Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to develop concepts, treatments, and story approaches.
Translate client goals and campaign strategies into compelling video ideas.
Lead pre-production, including treatments, storyboards, interview development, shot lists, schedules, and production planning.
Direct shoots, interviews, and on-camera talent.
Serve as a lead cinematographer on productions.
Capture intentional, high-quality footage with a strong understanding of lighting, composition, movement, and sound.
Edit long-form and short-form video with a strong sense of story, pacing, music, and emotion.
Create content for brand campaigns, websites, paid media, social, digital platforms, and more.
Conduct interviews that uncover authentic, compelling stories and make people who aren’t accustomed to being on camera feel comfortable.
Work collaboratively with designers, writers, strategists, and account teams to build integrated creative.
Manage video production workflows, equipment, and project organization.
Coordinate additional crew, freelancers, and production partners when needed.
Help establish and continually elevate the standard for video work coming out of The Sampson House.
Think strategically about how each production can create useful content across multiple channels and formats.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE -
Video projects are confidently led from initial concept through final delivery.
Creative ideas and thoughtful solutions are brought to the table, not simply executed from a shot list.
Strong cinematography is balanced with meaningful storytelling and clear purpose.
Client goals, audience, and strategy remain at the center of creative decisions.
Clients and on-camera talent feel comfortable, confident, and supported throughout production.
Collaboration across creative, strategy, account, and media teams is seamless and productive.
Projects, deadlines, and deliverables are organized and well managed.
Each production is approached with the bigger picture in mind, creating opportunities for content to work across multiple channels and formats.
Problems are anticipated and solved before they impact production or a final deliverable.
The quality and capabilities of video at The Sampson House continue to grow and evolve.
