The Intern: Meet, Milana!

She's back! And we couldn't be more excited about it. We worked with Milana last fall/spring semester and loved how passionate, driven, smart and fun she was. She's a total go-getter and is always making us laugh. Aside from perfectly fitting in with TSH, she is awesome at what she does. We are pumped to have her back on The Sampson House team as our digital media coordinator and project manager intern this fall/spring semester. Read all about her below. :)

Name: Milana Arambasic

Social Media Handle:

College: University of Sioux Falls

Major: Marketing + Business Innovations

Birthday: September 15, 1995 (newbie @ being 21) ☺

What projects are you working on at The Sampson House?

Currently, I am working on maintaining social media platforms (and growing them) for Breadico, Hungry for Truth, Prairie Lane Vintage rentals, and The Sampson House...just to name a few. ;) I also am working on curating + researching blog posts that are informative for small business owners with providing marketing tips, and other unique information I come across. And my favorite, I get to work on behind-the-scenes of a lot of photo shoots for our clients.

What do you spend your time doing when you’re not working on TSH?

When I am not working at TSH, I am either in school (senior year!), working at one of my other jobs, working out, or relaxing, on a rare occasion.

Favorite social media platform?

My favorite social media platform is Instagram because it is a great glimpse into people’s lives, an awesome place for inspiration + creativity, and honestly, it is a great place for networking and making new friends.

What are you reading right now?

I am reading a book for one of my classes called Drive by Daniel H. Pink which focuses on motivation in all areas of life. It is an easy read, and very applicable to the real-world.

What is your ideal weekend?

My ideal weekend is laying on a beach, tanning, and having no responsibilities for a week. #wishfulthinking.

What app could you not live without?

My mobile banking app! I can never make it to a bank, so being able to monitor and staying on top of my finances is a must.

What’s your go-to coffee beverage?

Hot chocolate? If I have to choose, a dirty Chai (from Starbucks though)

When did you develop an interest in marketing?

I think that my interest for marketing really developed when I dug into it last year during my internship. I got a lot of hands-on experience, and I got to see all the work + thought processes that go into photo shoots, blog posts, emails, and everything else.

What drew you to The Sampson House?

Honestly, the girls (Val, Kerry, & Angie). When I first met them, they were beyond amazing and warm. It was really important to me that I would actually be able to talk to my bosses, and feel comfortable around them. I hit the jackpot with the team at TSH! Oh, also the graphic drew me in when I came across it. ☺

Favorite way to blow off steam?

Shopping!!! #duh

If you could have lunch with one person, who would it be and what would you order?

I would love to have lunch with grandpa on my dad’s side. I never got to meet him, and I always wanted to know so much about the era he grew up in, and a ton of other things. I’d probably have to order RAKIJA, aka European Brandy; it’s tradition.

Best advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t let what others think of you, bother or influence you.

What’s your favorite thing about your internship?

The people and businesses I get to connect with. Plus, I love being able to see an idea in my head come to life and be sucessful.

What’s your ultimate bucket-list travel destination?

Bora Bora.

Favorite restaurant?

Carnaval Brazilian Grill (not like I work there, or anything) ☺

3 interesting things about you:

  1. I lost my last baby tooth at the age of 20!!!!

  2. I am originally from Serbia (no, not Siberia)

  3. I have a brown dot in the middle of my right eye.

What are you currently listening to on your I-pod?

Sweet Child of Mine by Guns N Roses

Ultimate dream career?

My ultimate, ultimate dream career would be to travel the world and share my tips with people in all areas of life.

What do you bring to the table here at TSH?

Other than donuts, and jokes, I’d say my motivation to get results, a drive for being successful, and a willingness to learn + grow in my career field.
