Overview
GetScreenedSD is a statewide initiative from the South Dakota Department of Health that empowers residents to take a proactive approach to their health through regular cancer screenings. Through outreach, education, and partnerships with local healthcare providers, GetScreenedSD helps South Dakotans understand when and where to get screened, encouraging individuals, families, and communities to take simple steps toward longer, healthier lives.
The Sampson House serves as the agency of record for GetScreenedSD, leading the effort to refresh and expand its statewide presence. Our team developed a new brand identity and logo, designed and launched a modern, user-friendly website, and created cohesive collateral and social content to strengthen community engagement.
Today, we continue to support GetScreenedSD through ongoing content marketing, educational materials, and creative campaigns that emphasize the importance of early detection. By connecting South Dakotans to free or low-cost screening options, our work helps reduce the impact of preventable cancers and builds a culture of proactive health across the state.

From Screen to Screened: Encouraging Visits and Care
GetScreenedSD’s social media strategy focused on growing a meaningful following while driving traffic to the website and encouraging connections with available screening programs. By producing consistent, engaging content tailored to the audience’s interests and health needs, the strategy emphasized both education and action. Visual storytelling, shareable graphics, and informative posts were designed to highlight key services, simplify health information, and motivate followers to take the next step—visiting the website, learning more, accessing screening resources, and making a screening appointment with their doctor. This approach positions GetScreenedSD as a trusted, approachable resource in the community while building measurable awareness and engagement across social platforms.
RESULTS
By simplifying screening information and meeting people where they are, GetScreenedSD strengthened its connection with communities across South Dakota.
