HUNGRY FOR TRUTH MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH

How a Soy-Focused, Community-Centered Event Sold Out in Just One Day

Hungry for Truth partnered with The Bouquet Bar by Jane Rae Events to host a Mother’s Day experience that paired community celebration with hands-on soy education. By blending lifestyle elements with agricultural storytelling, the event created a warm, memorable connection to soy—and sold out in just one day.

Overview

For Mother’s Day 2025, Hungry for Truth partnered with The Bouquet Bar by Jane Rae Events to host a unique, experience-driven event to honor women near Mother’s Day. The goal was twofold: to show appreciation for women and mothers in our community and educate the public on the many ways soybeans are part of everyday life.

Hungry for Truth is an initiative from the South Dakota Soybean Research & Promotion Council and the Soybean Checkoff Organization. Their mission is to connect consumers with the people who grow their food. This event served as a hands-on extension of that mission, offering guests an intimate, joyful setting to celebrate, learn, and connect.

With only 30 spots available, and Hungry for Truth covering the ticket cost for those first 30 guests, the event sold out within one day of promotion, proving that agriculture-based education can go hand in hand with lifestyle-forward experiences.

STRATEGY

Turning Soy Education into a Celebration

At its heart, this event was about creating meaningful experiences. By positioning soy as both practical and personal, Hungry for Truth was able to shift soy education from passive to immersive, beautiful, and even luxurious.

Here’s how the strategy unfolded:

Hands-On Personalization with The Bouquet Bar by Jane Rae Events

Each guest created their own floral arrangement at the Bouquet Bar by Jane Rae Events, bringing joy and connection to the experience. Educational signage highlighted how soybean plants and honeybees work together in nature, helping guests understand the agricultural roots behind what they love.

Social Promotion with Limited-Time Incentive

To drive buzz and urgency, the event was promoted through a mix of boosted and organic social posts on Facebook and Instagram. Hungry for Truth also offered to cover the first 30 tickets (valued at $75), creating a compelling reason for guests to register early, and they did.

Partnering with Jane Rae Events

A critical component of the campaign’s success was the collaboration with Jane Rae Events. The space offered a stunning yet down-to-earth setting that is perfect for hosting a warm and welcoming event. The Jane Rae team worked closely with Hungry for Truth to bring every detail to life, from logistics to ambiance. Their focus on thoughtful hosting and attention to detail elevated the experience and made the event feel both curated and community-centered.

Soy-Based Charcuterie & Coffee

The morning included a large charcuterie spread from Cultivated in Love. It contains soy-based items, such as:

  • Soy-based meats

  • Edamame

  • Roasted Soy Nuts

  • Tofu Bites

  • Soy-based Cream Cheese Spread

Alongside the charcuterie spread of soy, guests were treated to an iced coffee bar, featuring cold brew and soy milk creamer. This was a thoughtful and flavorful way to showcase soy as a healthy alternative in everyday diets.

RESULTS

Measurable Results with a Personal Touch

The success of the Mother’s Day event wasn’t just seen in smiles and stories; it showed up in the numbers, too. Within one day of announcing the event on social media, all tickets were claimed, completely filling the event, with over 10 people hitting the waitlilst.
