KNOCK is The Sampson House 12-week summer internship program built to give the next generation of marketers and creatives a real foot in the door. You’ll work alongside our team, contribute to active client projects, explore different creative disciplines, and get a firsthand look at how an agency works.
You’ll learn from experienced professionals, bring your own perspective to the table, and build the skills and confidence to take the next step in your career. It’s real experience, real work, and a chance to see where your creativity can take you.

Who Should Apply?
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be curious.
KNOCK is for students who want hands-on agency experience, are eager to learn, and aren’t afraid to bring their ideas to the table.
You might be a designer, strategist, storyteller, problem solver, or a little bit of everything. What matters is that you’re ready to learn by doing, work with others, take feedback, and make things happen.

KNOCK is open to students and emerging creatives who are ready to get real-world experience in an agency setting. We welcome applicants from a variety of schools, backgrounds, and areas of study. If you’re curious and ready to learn, there’s a place for you.

Nope. KNOCK is designed to give you experience, not require you to already have it. We’re looking for people who are eager to learn, contribute, ask questions, and get involved in real client work.

A portfolio is required for Graphic Design and Video Production applicants and optional for other tracks. Your portfolio doesn’t need to be perfect. We’re more interested in seeing how you think, what you’ve made, and what you’re excited to keep learning.

Yes. If you’re interested in more than one area, you can apply for multiple tracks. Just tell us what interests you about each one and where you think you could contribute. We’ll help find where you fit best.

We’re planning to select a small group of interns across our different tracks. The exact number will depend on our team’s needs and the strength of the applicant pool.

KNOCK is based in Sioux Falls, and interns should be prepared to work in person with our team. If you’re coming from outside the area, you’ll need to make your own arrangements for transportation and housing.

Housing is not provided through KNOCK. Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation for the summer.

Possibly. If your school offers internship credit, we’re happy to work with you and your school to meet their requirements. Check with your academic advisor for details.
