We’re thrilled to welcome Nichelle Lund as the newest member of The Sampson House team, stepping into the Director of Community and Business Partnerships role!

Nichelle brings a wealth of sales expertise from her years in the hospitality industry, where she built strong connections and a reputation for delivering exceptional experiences. Though the marketing world is a new adventure, she’s already rolled up her sleeves, immersing herself in our clients, projects, and partnerships with fresh energy and perspective.

When she’s not at work, you’ll find Nichelle staying active in the community, exploring new destinations with her husband, or unwinding with a good book in hand.

Nichelle’s enthusiasm for building relationships is already sparking new ideas and opportunities. We’re so glad to have her on board and can’t wait to see the partnerships she’ll help create.

HOW DID YOU FIRST LEARN ABOUT TSH, AND WHAT DREW YOU TO US?

 I attended your ribbon-cutting after the expansion of your offices in 2024. 


WHAT ARE 3 WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE SAMPSON HOUSE?

Classic, Elevated, Approachable


WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON? AND WHICH HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE SO FAR?

My role is a little different than many on the team (and I don't come from a marketing world). I’m just beginning to get my feet wet with proposals for a few organizations. This has provided me with so much more insight into what this team is capable of. I’m surrounded by extremely talented rockstars, and I can’t wait to assist with a project from proposal to campaign completion. 

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO WAKE UP AND GO TO WORK?

Who I work with has a lot to do with that, but what I get to do is what drives me. I LOVE connecting with people, learning from folks, and building relationships. 


WHAT DO YOU SPEND YOUR TIME DOING WHEN YOU’RE NOT AT WORK?

Because a lot of what I do involves being around people, when I’m not at work, I’m at home, enjoying a good book. We love to travel and try to get away for a long weekend at least once a month when we can. 


WHEN DID YOU DEVELOP AN INTEREST IN COMMUNITY AND MARKETING?

I’ve always been in a “Sales and Marketing” role in my career, so marketing myself has been a natural part of everyday life.

WHAT’S A CURRENT MARKETING TREND YOU SEE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?

People are more interested in experiences than ever before - if you can create something that utilizes three or more senses, you are going to capture more engagement and return. I think this goes across all industries, not just marketing though. 


WHO WOULD BE YOUR DREAM CLIENT TO WORK ON AND WHY?

I’ve had some really wonderful experiences in my life, and as someone who loves to travel and enjoys both food and wine as if it were my job, I would love to work with The International Wine & Food Society. 

BEST ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?

When you’re having a bad day, that’s okay. You can go there, but you can’t stay there. (Vaney!) its something that has transformed how I approach those ‘low’ moods and keeps me from wallowing.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR POSITION?

Being part of the community. I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to engage with people and build relationships - not just to make a sale, but to make a friend. I have the opportunity to do all of that and then some in this new position.


WHAT’S YOUR ULTIMATE BUCKET-LIST TRAVEL DESTINATION?

 I met some wonderful ladies while I was on a hiking trip a few years ago and they invited me to New Zealand to visit - I’m thinking 2026 might be the year that I take them up on that!


IF YOU COULD MEET ANYONE, LIVING OR DEAD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

I do love a good Taylor Swift sing-along and have been a fan for quite some time! From a business and philanthropic standpoint, she stands out as someone who genuinely cares about both the fan and employee experience that she provides. 


FAVORITE RESTAURANT?

Sky Bistro is located at the top of the Banff Gondola. It offers amazing food and even more breathtaking views. 2. Locally, we love Crawfords—so good!


3 INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT YOU:

  • I’ve been diagnosed with hearing loss since I was 9, but didn’t get hearing aids until 2022, and it changed my life! 

  • I’ve spent almost 20 years of my career in Hospitality, from the Front Desk to Area Director roles, and recently helped open a gorgeous lifestyle brand hotel! 

  • I love telling people that I met my husband “the old-fashioned way”—in a bar in Houston. 


WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY LISTENING TO ON YOUR PLAYLIST?

I go back and forth between Taylor Swift, Kip Moore, and from the '90s and early '00s


GO-TO TV SHOW?

My go-to comfort show is Schitt’s Creek, and my go-to comfort movie series is Harry Potter.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?

 If I can look back and see that I’ve left things better than I found them, whether it’s a project, a team, or a community, then that’s success in my book.

I bring community connections built over a long career in the Hospitality industry and an outsider's perspective into a very creative world!
